Riyaasat ke Riyaasati Wakeel

165. Riyaasat ke Riyaasati Wakeel.—
Advocate-General for the State.—

165(1). Har ek Riyaasat ke Naazim e Riyaasat ek aese shakhs ko Riyaasat ke Riyaasati Wakeel mukarrar karenge jo Adaalat e Aalia me Qaazi mukarrar kiye jaane ke aehl ho.
The Governor of each State shall appoint a person who is qualified to be appointed a Judge of a High Court to be Advocate-General for the State.

165(2). Ye Riyaasati Wakeel par farz hoga ke wo Riyaasat ki Hukumat ko aese qaanuuni ma’amlaat me apni raae de, aur aese digar faraaez ki ta’amil kare jo qaanuuni nauiyyat ke hou, jinhe Naazim e Riyaasat ne waqt ba waqt oonke saamne madde nazar kiya ho ya oonhe saupa ho, aur aese a’amaal ki takmeel kare jo is Aain ya kisi digar maujudaah qaanuun ke zariye oonpar aaed kiye gaye hou.
It shall be the duty of the Advocate-General to give advice to the Government of the State upon such legal matters, and to perform such other duties of a legal character, as may from time to time be referred or assigned to him by the Governor, and to discharge the functions conferred on him by or under this Constitution or any other law for the time being in force.

165(3). Riyaasati Wakeel apne ohde par tab tak hi qaayam rahenge jab tak ke Naazim e Riyaasat ki raza ho, aur oonhe aesa muaawaza ada kiya jaayega jaesa ke Naazim e Riyaasat mutayyin kare.
The Advocate-General shall hold office during the pleasure of the Governor, and shall receive such remuneration as the Governor may determine.
