Preamble to the Constitution of India (Urdu)

TAMHEED E AAIN E HIND



HUM, jo HIND KI AWAAM hae, humne, ye pukhta aehad kiya hae ke hum HIND ki tashkeel ek MUQTADIR ISTERAAKI AALAMAANI AWAAMI JAMHURIYAT me kare, aur iske tamaam shehrio ko :
WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:

ma’ashri, ma’ashi aur siyaasi ADL faraaham kare;
JUSTICE, social, economic and political;

aur fikr, izhaar, aqide, imaan aur ibaadat ki AAZAADI faraaham kare;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;

aur haesiyat aur mawaaqe me MASAAWAAT faraaham kare;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity;

aur in tamaam shehrio ke darmeyaan
and to promote among them all

UUKHUWWAT ko farogh kare, jo fard ke waqaar aur Mulk ke ittehaad aur saalmiyat ki zamaanat de;
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation;

Aaj, Nawambar, 1949 (unnis sau oonchaas) ke is chhabbiswe roz, HAMAARI AAIN SAAZ MAJLIS ME, HUM KHUD KO YE AAIN ATAA KARTE HAE, AUR IS AAIN KO QUUBUUL AUR NAAFEZ KARTE HAE.
IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.
